My background is that of teaching and business as I have a BS Management degree from Clemson University and a MAT degree from The Citadel/CofC. I also have much experience working in the outdoors and with the parks system in the past. I truly enjoy and love spending time in the outdoors and grew up doing so as I'm a fellow Eagle Scout.
Several years ago while camping I became seriously passionate and interested in birding and learning more about them. Eventually I bought a camera (last year) because the learning curve is very steep if only using binoculars and I've felt a strong passion and connection to capturing what I see out there since. My aim in my photography will always be ethics first; if I see a bird changing or altering their behavior simply because of my presence, it's time to move on. Most of my photography is simply me walking through various habitats. My ultimate goal is to capture a sense of what it's like to be there and to promote an aspect of conservation through these photos. We should strive to protect our habitats and lands - for both people and animals.
