Robin Howard's "Charleston" boxes are intricate assemblages of local found objects and paper bundles. It's all held together with beeswax, so these works aren't just amazing, artful conversation pieces - they smell good. Robin is an avid naturalist and this series is her love letter to the Lowcountry. When she's not in her studio on the marsh making art, she's usually out kayaking, wandering the beaches, birding, or roaming Bull Island looking for materials.
Robin is the third artist showing at our February 24th Group Show. It's hard for us to keep these boxes in the gallery - but we've got nearly a dozen hanging right now for the show (and for the enjoyment of the #SEWE folks this weekend). Come see her new work (before it disappears!) and plan to come back and meet Robin on Friday, February 24th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the opening. Comments are closed.
