Mark Frankenburg
Artist Bio: Mark Frankenburg is a Richmond, Virginia based multimedia artist. He got his start as a painter but his interests and media are ever-changing. Most recently he has experimented with woodworking. He often incorporates salvaged materials such as pallet wood, bottle caps, and even discarded cutting boards into his work. Some of his favorite subjects are fish, crabs, seahorses, and cacti.
Frankenburg’s works have been collected throughout the United States as well as the United Kingdom and France. Frankenburg is mainly a self-taught artist. He always enjoyed art during his childhood but did not pursue it professionally until 2015. He has honed his skills through thousands of hours of practice, constant experimentation, and reading many books about composition and technique.
More than anything, Frankenburg’s art features a lot of color and texture. He frequently uses various gels to achieve texture and sheen. Frankenburg’s goal is for his work to look visually stunning from every angle and in every type of light. Everything Frankenburg produces is one-of-a-kind and personally signed.
